Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the UnitingCare Burnside Advocacy Network.
UnitingCare Burnside is committed to advocacy for children, young people and families and aims to influence policies and decisions which adversely impact on disadvantaged families and children. This advocacy is informed by work done through the Social Policy and Research team who reviews and analyses information from many sources, including listening to the people who use our services.
As a member of the UnitingCare Burnside Advocacy Network, you would be sent background information on issues and suggestions for action.
Issues dealt with in the past include welfare reform, substitute care funding, young people entering the workforce, and child abuse.
Membership is open to all members of the community. If you would like to join the Network, please contact Rev Garry Derkenne at gderkenne@burnside.org.au
